Welcome and thank you for visiting Wigs for Heroes!
We are a grass roots charity located in the heart of Tottenham, North London. Our aim is to support people undergoing cancer treatment in the local communities in the UK.
our services
Wig Grants
Our Wig Grant Programme is at the heart of everything we do and is one of the reasons this organisation was founded. We understand the significant impact that hair loss can have on a person's wellbeing and confidence while recovering from cancer treatment.
Our Wig Grants are currently available to chemotherapy patients receiving treatment at North Middlesex Hospital only. Applications are now open.
Please note:
Applicants may be asked to provide proof of diagnosis and proof of income or earnings as part of the application process.
Wig Grants are valid only at the participating NHS-approved suppliers listed on the application form.
Once a grant has been processed, Wigs for Heroes cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage, or issues relating to the grant or the wig purchased
Virtual Cancer Support Groups
The Heroes Virtual Coffee Club is at the heart of our commitment to ensuring that no one faces cancer alone. We understand that a cancer diagnosis and treatment can bring many emotional challenges, and having a safe space to connect with others who understand can make a meaningful difference.
Our virtual support group provides a welcoming and friendly environment where patients, survivors, and those affected by cancer can come together, share experiences, offer support, and build connections from the comfort of their own homes.
Open to anyone affected by cancer across the UK, no matter where you are based, The Heroes Virtual Coffee Club allows people to access support and connection without the barriers of travel or location.
Whether you’re looking for a listening ear, a chance to meet others on a similar journey, or simply a place to feel understood, The Heroes Virtual Coffee Club is here to offer companionship, encouragement, and a sense of community.
Everyone is welcome. Together, we create a supportive space where stories are shared, friendships are formed, and no one has to feel alone.
Creative workshops
Our Creative Sessions provide a welcoming and supportive space where people affected by cancer can come together, try something new, and enjoy the benefits of creativity in a relaxed and friendly environment.
Taking part in a hands-on creative activity can offer many benefits during or after cancer treatment. Creative sessions can provide a positive focus away from the challenges of diagnosis and treatment, helping to reduce stress, encourage relaxation, support emotional wellbeing, and give people a sense of achievement and enjoyment. They also offer an opportunity to reconnect with yourself, build confidence, and explore creativity at your own pace.
Our sessions are designed to bring people together in a warm and inclusive community where friendships can grow, experiences can be shared, and everyone can feel supported. Whether you are currently going through treatment, recovering after cancer, or supporting someone affected by cancer, you are welcome to join us.
Hosted in our community space in North London, our Creative Sessions are free to attend and open to anyone looking for connection, creativity, and a supportive environment.
Hospital Pamper Bags
Our Hospital Pamper Bags are a small gesture designed to bring comfort, kindness, and a little moment of joy to people undergoing chemotherapy treatment at North Middlesex Hospital.
Filled with thoughtful self-care items and uplifting treats, each bag is created to remind patients that they are not alone on their cancer journey. We understand that chemotherapy can be a challenging and emotional experience, and these little gifts are our way of offering support, encouragement, and a reminder that someone is thinking of them.
Our aim is to provide moments of comfort and positivity during a difficult time, whether it’s enjoying a small act of self-care, discovering something that brings a smile, or simply feeling the warmth of support from their community.
“ I just want to be able to help others restore their confidence when they are going through cancer treatment”
