A workshop perfect for absolute beginners, those who have tried to crochet, but struggled to get started, or even those who have done a little crochet but want to gain more confidence.

This class will teach the basic crochet stitches and techniques, covering single crochet, double crochet and basic pattern reading. By the end you will have developed the skills to create your own headband.

We will supply the materials for you in this class which you will be able to keep. If you'd like to bring your own hooks or any other materials you might want to use that's fine.

You may also find it useful to bring a notebook to make your own annotations, which can be helpful to aid memory after the class has finished.

Hello there, I’m Holly and I am really excited to be hosting this workshop! I have over 10 years experience with crochet, inspired by the craftswomen who raised me and their outlook on making, mending and sharing. My story with Wigs for Heroes started at the end of 2025 after I donated some beanie hats I’d made to the boutique. Having experienced my mother going through breast cancer twice, I feel grateful to be joining such a special community and to have the opportunity to share my skills with you.
